There’s something really special about gathering family together in one place—especially when that place is tucked away in the peaceful beauty of the North Georgia mountains. Whether it’s a cozy cabin in Blue Ridge, a rental retreat in Ellijay, or a quiet hideaway near Dahlonega, these moments feel different here. Slower. Sweeter. More meaningful.

This session was no exception.

I had the joy of photographing this large, joyful family during their stay at a gorgeous mountain cabin. They'd traveled from all over to be together—something that doesn’t happen often anymore with busy lives, scattered schedules, and growing families. And that’s what made this session feel extra special. It wasn’t just about portraits; it was about pausing time.

We explored the cabin grounds, chasing golden light and laughter. There were quiet moments between grandparents and grandkids, silly jokes from siblings, and the kind of hugs that linger just a little longer. You could feel how much it meant for them to all be in one place.

And of course, we ended the evening around the campfire with s’mores, sticky fingers and all. The kind of memory that settles deep into your heart—the kind you’ll want to hold onto forever.
