Ellijay Maternity Photos in the North Georgia Mountains

Maternity sessions like this one are exactly why I love what I do. Shannon and Blake made the trip to Ellijay to capture this incredibly special season of their lives, surrounded by the beautiful North Georgia mountains. Even though it was a chilly winter day, the energy was light, relaxed, and full of laughter from start to finish.

From the moment we started, we joked around, laughed the entire time, and embraced the cozy winter vibes. Shannon and Blake are so easygoing and genuinely fun to be around, which always makes for the best photos. When couples show up relaxed and trusting the process, the magic truly happens.

They came into the session with no inspiration photos, no strict ideas, and no expectations other than letting me do my thing. That is honestly how most of my clients approach their sessions, and it is one of my favorite ways to work. When you trust me to guide you, we create images that feel natural, effortless, and completely true to who you are.

This session was especially meaningful because they were awaiting the arrival of their sweet baby girl, with Shannon being due just about any day. There is something so beautiful about that anticipation. The excitement, the calm before everything changes, and the love that already exists before your baby even arrives. Capturing that feeling is always such an honor.

The North Georgia mountains gave us the perfect backdrop. Soft winter tones, peaceful scenery, and just the right amount of quiet made this session feel intimate and timeless. Even with the cold air, we had so much fun moving around, laughing, and soaking in the moment.

Sessions like this are not about stiff posing or being perfect. They are about connection, trust, and creating space for real moments to unfold. Shannon and Blake fully leaned into that, and the result is a gallery full of images they will always be able to look back on and remember exactly how this season felt. I’m so happy for their sweet little family, and Blake & Shannon will be the most fun and loving parents to their little girl.
